Kayla Chan @ Alexandria

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Kayla was brought up living a very active lifestyle swimming, hiking, and rock climbing. She graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney and with a background in kinesiology, Kayla has a thorough understanding of how the human body moves and functions. She is committed to providing a high level of care using evidence-based practice and is passionate about utilising a holistic approach to therapy. Kayla finds it rewarding to be able to improve the health and well-being of her clients such that they can return to the activities that they love.

Kayla is available at Alexandria 7:30am to 4:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 7:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesdays.

Poppy Drumm-Owen @ Alexandria

Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Poppy brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Exercise Science and Psychology. Her academic journey culminated in completing her Master of Physiotherapy Practice at The University of Auckland, where she graduated with First Class Honours.

Poppy’s research expertise lies in exercise prehabilitation for individuals with cancer, an area she is keen to further develop throughout her career. Her passion extends beyond academia — she thrives on connecting with new clients and helping them achieve their wellness goals. As a clinician, Poppy enjoys treating all types of musculoskeletal injuries and has a special interest in exercise rehabilitation, pre and post-operative rehab and fall prevention. What sets Poppy apart is her holistic approach. She considers not only the physical aspects of her clients’ concerns but also their mental, emotional, and social well-being. With empathy and expertise, she guides individuals toward lasting health improvements.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Poppy enjoying quality time with friends, indulging in baking adventures, exploring the vibrant streets of Sydney, and reconnecting with friends and family back in New Zealand.

Poppy is available at Alexandria 8:30am to 12:30pm on Mondays, and 8:30am to 6pm Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Charles Geddes @ Alexandria

Charles graduated from the University of South Australia in 2000 and is entering his 26th year as a physiotherapist. He started his career as a physiotherapist at Hornsby Hospital and then travelled throughout the UK in England, Scotland and Wales over a 2 year period working as a physiotherapist. He gained experience in post-operative orthopaedic surgery management as well as athlete management in sports such as rugby, soccer and cricket. Since returning to Sydney, Charles has worked exclusively in private practice and attends regular education updates and up-skilling courses, aiming to be at the cutting edge of the injury management.

He continues to have a keen sporting interest and enjoys treating AFL players, soccer players, runners and basketballers. Charles has completed extensive Clinical Pilates training incorporating this sort of exercise therapy as part of his clients’ rehabilitation, especially those with back pain. Away from the Clinic Charles has his hands full with 3 little boys, including twins! Apart for chasing after them he also pursues an active lifestyle including running; going to the gym and playing social basketball. He is an Australian Physiotherapy Association member.

Charles is available at Alexandria 9am to 1pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and afternoons till 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Kang Shaw @ Alexandria

Kang graduated from the University of Sydney and has over 15 years experience in both major Eastern Sydney hospitals and sports private practice. He has a special interest in sports and work injury management and during his career has been constantly up-skilling with the latest research and courses. He utilises his skills with sports integrated dry needling and Clinical Pilates to assess and treat all kinds of injuries, specialising in chronic low back and neck pain.

An avid snowboarder and gamer, with a history in competitive state level Athletics, he has an expert understanding of human biomechanics in dynamic action and static posture, evaluating each client individually utilising specific tailor-made treatment plans, placing great emphasis on correct technique and form to facilitate return to work or sport and prevent further injury.

Kang is available at Alexandria 11:30am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays.
